About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at Sentara Healthcare. As a Speech Pathologist, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of our patients by assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitative programs to address speech, swallowing, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to identify communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Supervise and mentor speech pathology students and staff

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • 1 year of experience in speech pathology, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
