Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Supervisor to join our team at Electroswitch. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the work assigned to Assembly and Sub-assembly units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Hire, train, review, direct, motivate, discipline, and terminate employees as needed.
  • Production Planning: Plan and direct the setup of Assembly Stations/ Cells, including light machinery and small presses.
  • Workforce Management: Analyze workloads and delivery requirements, and distribute work force accordingly.
  • Quality Control: Review and discuss with Assembly Manager to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Inventory Management: Update schedules from each department to track jobs completed and parts delivered.
  • Materials Management: Check with appropriate department for shortages of materials and parts.
  • Customer Service: Process all returned switches from customers, including completion of paperwork.
  • Problem-Solving: Follow progress of work, anticipate causes of delay or inadequate performance, and take or obtain corrective action.
  • Training and Development: Direct, assist, instruct, and check subordinates as to schedules, methods, standards of performance, safety precautions, shop rules and regulations, and other matters affecting their work.
  • Discipline and Personnel Relations: Maintain discipline and good personnel relations, and approve daily attendance report.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Engineering Department for correction of shop packets or prints, and with Quality Control to resolve problems and the Materials Department to schedule jobs.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the department Manager in the execution of the strategic plan.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and control department expenses to the budget.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Workflow Optimization: Screen parts for transport to work cells to assist with workflow.
  • Engineering Support: Work with Engineering to correct BOM discrepancies.
Requirements

This position requires a high school education and five to seven years of assembly and/or shop experience, with a minimum of three years supervisory experience. MS Office experience and ERP experience are a must. Ability to read blueprints, use hand tools and measuring devices, small presses, and other light machinery is also required.

Work Environment

This is a combination of manufacturing and office environment. Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and odors is expected.
