Position Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical and Piping Construction Manager to oversee operations at our Iowa City site. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who will contribute to the meticulous planning and scheduling of construction activities, prepare bid packages for subcontracting, and ensure that all work aligns with safety standards, budget constraints, timelines, and quality benchmarks, as well as corporate and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review engineering documentation for feasibility and thoroughness.
  • Consolidate various engineering packages to create actionable plans and deliverables for field operations, supervision, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain organized engineering and drawing files.
  • Prepare labor and material estimates, conduct material takeoffs, and manage requisitions.
  • Schedule workforce and monitor project progress.
  • Engage directly with owners, engineers, and field supervisors.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical and piping planning.
  • Familiarity with sanitary piping systems is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate knowledge of MS Project scheduling software is required.
  • Understanding of Lean Construction Principles is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Training is a plus.
