Overview

The University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a skilled Nursing Care Specialist to join our team. This role will provide direct nursing care to patients in the CTH Rehab-Ortho Unit, working within the nursing process to deliver safe and effective care.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $62,000 - $82,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This Nursing Care Specialist role requires strong clinical leadership skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to other staff members. You will work closely with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans, ensuring adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients as required
  • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division, and departmental policies
  • Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting responsibilities for new personnel
  • Assist with emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records containing necessary information

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Current RN licensure in New Mexico (or reciprocal agreement)
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification
  • Ability to work within Hospitals, Nursing division, and departmental policies
