Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of coated steel products at the Steelscape facility. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of manufacturing associates and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain safety metrics and standards in accordance with BSL HSE management standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to site employees, ensuring skills and competencies are developed and aligned with business expectations
  • Manage and facilitate continuous improvement activities to create manufacturing excellence and improve quality, service, and cost reduction
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot quality and productivity problems within the business
  • Develop and administer budget while improving conversion cost and reducing variances
  • Work with production teams, schedulers, quality system, facilitators, logistics, and plant maintenance to ensure production goals are met or exceeded
  • Manage inventory and coordinate with line schedulers
  • Manage maintenance and reliability tasks to ensure continuity of operations
  • Manage capital appropriations for current and future department needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or related field, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of Steelscape product experience
  • SAP experience
  • Manufacturing automation experience
  • Data analytics experience
