Job Summary

Under the supervision of experienced technicians, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing automotive air-cooled vehicles and/or water-cooled equipment and machines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive servicing, heavy truck repair, and landscape equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash, change oil, lubricate, and fill equipment with gas, as well as change and repair tires on automotive equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of gasoline usage.
  • Perform minor repairs to vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist senior technicians in major preventive maintenance or repair work, and a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks.
  • Pick up and return vehicles, make service calls, and pick up parts from commercial parts shops.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and some experience in performing routine servicing of automotive equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive servicing, heavy truck repair, landscape equipment, and light mechanical repair work.
  • Ability to read and write work-related job instructions in English.
  • Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain equipment-servicing schedules, records, and reports.
  • Ability to learn basic automotive procedures and safety precautions.
  • Ability to operate equipment that requires a high degree of manipulative skill.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a valid Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
