Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting obstetric and gynecological sonography examinations to aid in clinical evaluations and diagnose medical conditions under the supervision of the attending physician at Central Carolina Hospital. All procedures will adhere to established departmental protocols, policies, and standards of practice. The technician will also ensure high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes in accordance with departmental guidelines. Professional judgment is exercised during service delivery, maintaining a demeanor that reflects the highest medical ethics. The technician will assess and monitor patients, providing necessary care throughout the process.

Educational Requirements:

An Associate in Applied Science in Medical Sonography is required or must be obtained within six months of hire.

Licensure Requirements:

ARRT registry with ultrasound credential OR ARDMS OB/GYN certification must be obtained within twelve months of employment.

Certification Requirements:

American Heart Association BLS certification is required within thirty days of hire.
