About the Role:

A Dumpling Trainee at Din Tai Fung is tasked with preparing, putting together, folding, and steaming dumplings for guests. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will operate in a show kitchen, requiring you to uphold a tidy and professional look.

You will begin your journey as a Dumpling Trainee and participate in our hands-on dumpling training program, which is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role. Upon completion of the program, graduates will transition into the Dumpling Prep role, accompanied by a competitive hourly wage increase.

In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks such as preparing, measuring, and cutting dough; rolling dumpling/bun skins; stuffing, closing, and arranging dumplings/buns in a steamer; adding meat and allergen identifiers; steaming dumplings/buns; maintaining a clean working space and dumpling room; and labeling all items in accordance with regulations and procedures.

We are seeking friendly, energetic, highly motivated individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. While dumpling experience is not required, experience in prep, specifically with dough (pastry, pizza, etc.) is a plus. Open availability and an eagerness to learn and be challenged are essential qualities for success in this role.
