About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Medical Care Unit setting. As a Tele RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with various medical conditions, including CHF, pneumonia, COVID, COPD, sepsis, and more.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
  • Participate in vascular surgeries, including carotid endarterectomies, femoral endarterectomies, and amputations.
  • Assist with urology procedures, such as mastectomies, hemicolectomies, and bowel resections.
  • Support neurosurgery patients, including spinal fusions, laminectomies, and craniotomies.
  • Manage patient care on the night shift, with a 1:5-6 patient-to-nurse ratio.
  • Provide education to patients and families on disease management and self-care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
About the Facility

This 411-bed medical center features a statewide medical helicopter service and provides outreach clinics to local hospitals. The facility is located in Bangor, Maine, and offers a range of specialty and intensive services.

Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Maine.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Care Unit or Telemetry setting.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and provide life-saving interventions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends.
