Job Summary

The City of Balch Springs seeks a highly skilled Emergency Response Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for dispatching law enforcement personnel and equipment, answering emergency and non-emergency calls, and maintaining communication operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dispatch and communicate with Police and Fire personnel via radio, mobile data terminals, and other methods.
  • Provide procedural and safety instructions to callers while awaiting emergency response.
  • Maintain unit status and location through CAD, T.L.E.T.S., and radio.
  • Support Police services by accessing local, state, and federal criminal information databases.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 20 words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of City organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes and ordinances and laws regarding public safety.
  • Experience with public safety classification codes and computer commands.
Benefits:
  • Estimated salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year.
