The Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiovascular Administration is responsible for providing managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in the Cardiovascular Administration department. This role is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for support in the following areas: hiring, staffing and scheduling, orientation, performance assessment, budget monitoring, maintaining and establishing patient care standards, policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Nurse Manager in planning, recommendation, and implementation of clinical service delivery.
- Recommend policy changes that enhance nursing ability to achieve top quartile performance.
- Assist the Nurse Manager with staff supervision, counseling, and documentation of personnel actions.
- Assist the Nurse Manager with the evaluation of work performance and performance assessments.
- Promote, establish, and maintain open communication.
- Assist the Nurse Manager with budget monitoring.
- Assist with the supervision and direction of the department Clinical Educator.
- Minimum of 3 years applicable nursing experience, preferably in Cardiac, Cath Lab, and EP.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory/leadership experience in a healthcare organization.
- Financial and budgetary experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
The Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiovascular Administration will work in a predominantly office environment with some time spent on site in the medical/hospital setting. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
