Music Therapist

About the Role:

The Music Therapist will collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to implement a plan of care for patients and families, utilizing music therapy. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or equivalent experience and a minimum of two years paid experience in music therapy, preferably in the psychosocial field. The ideal candidate will be credentialed as a Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) or eligible to sit for the exam within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients and families, utilizing music therapy.
• Provide supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
• Develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Participate in the seasonal influenza program and maintain a commitment to patient, client, staff, and volunteer safety.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years paid experience in music therapy, preferably in the psychosocial field.
• Credentialed as a Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) or eligible to sit for the exam within the first year of employment.
• Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for patients and families.
