We are seeking a skilled Radiological Imaging Specialist to join our team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading healthcare provider, Magnet Medical, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for administering radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic imaging purposes. You will work closely with nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists to perform tests that provide detailed images of the body's organs and tissues, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Radiopharmaceutical Administration:
  • Prepare and administer radioactive substances: Ensure correct dosage and safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor patients during administration: Check for immediate adverse reactions or complications.
  • Proper disposal of radioactive materials: Follow safety protocols to minimize risk to patients and staff.
Imaging and Diagnostic Procedures:
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment: Use gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners to capture detailed images.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging tests: Capture clear, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic images for disease detection.
  • Patient positioning and comfort: Ensure optimal imaging results while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
Patient Interaction and Preparation:
  • Explain procedures to patients: Alleviate concerns and ensure understanding of risks and benefits.
  • Verify patient identity and medical history: Ensure appropriate radiopharmaceutical use and test procedures.
  • Prepare patients for imaging: Assist with physical support and position patients correctly.
Image Analysis and Documentation:
  • Review images for diagnostic quality: Ensure proper labeling and documentation for each test performed.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists: Provide preliminary image analysis and note abnormalities or relevant findings.
  • Maintain accurate patient records: Comply with hospital or facility protocols.
Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
  • Routine maintenance and calibration: Ensure proper function and safety of nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues: Resolve problems related to imaging equipment or radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Compliance with radiation safety protocols: Minimize risk to patients and staff.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 per year
