Job Summary

Atlantic Medical Imaging is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief CT Technologist to lead our CT clinical operations in the North region. As a Regional Chief CT Technologist, you will be responsible for overseeing daily CT operations, developing and maintaining the monthly CT schedule, and ensuring proper staffing in case of callouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily CT operations, including developing and maintaining the monthly CT schedule and ensuring proper staffing in case of callouts.
  • Ensure that necessary quality control functions are performed as required in every office and that QC books are maintained.
  • Report any concerns directly to the Senior Chief CT Technologist.
  • Responsible for submitting and maintaining ACR certification.
  • Provide orientation for new staff members and follow up on a regular basis to ascertain their progress and take remedial action if needed.
  • Work with the management team on installation of new equipment and ensure new sites, rooms, and equipment are ready for clinical use.
  • Schedule applications on new equipment.
  • Take corrective action in a timely manner to address employee performance issues, keeping the management team informed of status.
  • Perform all computerized axial tomography examinations per departmental policies, as scheduled and upon demand.
  • Perform additional functions including image reconstruction, archiving, filming, and other software functions as directed by the Radiologist or as per standard departmental policy.
  • Work as a scanning technologist minimum of 1 day per week or more to cover departmental needs.
  • Review all patients' requests for diagnostic procedures as to designated anatomical part and clinical history.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and questions all female patients of childbearing age regarding pregnancy and documents.
  • Arrange, attach, and adjust immobilization and supportive devices to obtain the precise position.
  • Prevent patients' movements and alleviate discomfort.
  • Prepare each patient requiring IV administration of contrast media as per departmental policy.
  • Advise radiologists when ready for actual administration of contrast media and/or medications.
  • Maintain surveillance of all patients undergoing contrast injections providing updates to the radiologist.
  • Respect and protect patient privacy at all times.
  • Operate, at a high level of technical skill and proficiency, the computerized tomography unit including software and hardware to assure optimum scanning techniques, equipment utilization, and scanning times.
  • Perform all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up, and shut-down procedures.
  • Provide appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure that required maintenance, service, or repair work is completed on equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and document all required forms, worksheets, log books, including but not limited to requisitions, consent forms, IV therapy worksheets, patient daily log book, charge corrections, and equipment error/repair log.
  • Work with the Office Administrators to order non-stock items related to CT Technology on a timely basis.
  • Participate in all scheduled departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs as required.
  • Become familiar with and prepare to respond to all departmental codes to ensure the safety of patients, employees, visitors, and physical plant.
  • Consistently apply departmental policies and procedures, updating and maintaining knowledge base as needed.
  • Participate in all scheduled departmental training sessions and continuing education programs as required.
Requirements
  • Eligible and qualified candidates are experienced CT Technologists with a current and valid ARRT CT registry and NJ DEP X-ray License.
  • Credentials and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be maintained in accordance with AMI policy.
  • The ability to direct a workforce, provide support to staff, and delegate job duties.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy is required.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • The initiative and ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • The ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
  • The ability to learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments.
