The Senior Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for delivering comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting to the management team for the Heart Failure (HF) business unit. This role involves conducting thorough analyses and evaluations of operational performance, assisting with monthly financial closing processes, and preparing financial models, ad hoc analyses, and presentations that support the quarterly forecasting cycles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct financial planning and analysis for the HF business unit, which may encompass budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss assessments, market modeling, sales evaluations, business development, gross margin analysis, capital expenditures, exchange rates, price volume variances, headcount considerations, and other elements of the complete HF profit and loss statement.
- Execute month-end closing activities, including detailed variance analysis against the latest best estimate, in close collaboration with regional financial planning and analysis teams.
- Develop adaptable and comprehensive tools and templates to facilitate the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules, while also creating system solutions and process enhancements that align with financial planning and reporting requirements.
- Ensure an effective and efficient planning process for the division and supported functional areas, coordinating a planning calendar with essential dates and deliverables.
- Collaborate with key geographical regions to consolidate month-end, latest best estimate, and planning analyses, providing commentary related to the respective financial cycles.
- Prepare consolidated reports, presentations, and analyses for quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Engage in ad hoc analyses and reporting as required by finance management.
- Deliver routine reports to management based on expertise in financial systems and a solid understanding of the HF business.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Five to eight years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with EssBase (Dodeca) and Hyperion/Pillar budgeting software is advantageous.
- Understanding of the principles, processes, and standards for integral financial analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; strong skills in relevant financial systems applications are essential. Experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to navigate a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Capability to work collaboratively within a team and independently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in leveraging and engaging others to achieve project goals. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information at various organizational levels.
