Job Summary

The Meadowbrook Inn is seeking a highly skilled and organized Assistant Banquet Manager to join our team. As a key member of our banquet department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our Banquet Manager and Sales Manager in planning and executing events. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will be essential in ensuring the success of our events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of banquet functions, including scheduling, setup, and menu planning.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at least two weeks prior to the start of the event.
  • Inspect banquet rooms, service areas, and FOH kitchen areas for cleanliness and ensure sufficient supplies and equipment are available for the function.
  • Oversee and actively assist in all aspects of banquet function activities from start to finish.
  • Ensure events are properly set and ready for execution at the appointed time.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
  • Adhere to all banquet standard processes and hotel standard policies and procedures.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, supervising, training, and scheduling banquet and event staff members.
  • Coordinate function details with banquet and kitchen staff.
  • Conduct pre-shift and pre-function meetings.
  • Actively participate in the setup of banquet rooms and service of food and beverage to guests.
  • Communicate frequently with the group leader to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Display awareness and compliance with hotel security, safety, emergency, and energy procedures.
  • Post all banquet billing charges on the day of the event.
  • Maintain and reconcile an inventory of all alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain and keep an inventory of all banquet equipment, including AV, linens, tables, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Degree in hospitality or similar preferred.
  • A minimum of two years experience as an assistant banquet manager or similar preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Able to climb stairs.
  • Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property.
  • Able to twist, bend, reach, and pull.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
