Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. The successful candidate will assist with preparing and performing brain imaging research studies in older adults with cognitive impairments or dementia. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to cutting-edge research in the field of neurosciences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and interact with study participants, including consenting and performing interviews, administering brief memory/cognition tests, and coordinating brain imaging studies and blood sample collections.
  • Assist with writing and modifying research protocols and other documents for IRB or other regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain the integrity of collected data and samples, and ensure compliance with all IRB policies.
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure the successful completion of research studies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
  • Experience with activities in human research.
  • Prior experience in working with cognitively impaired older adults.
  • Prior experience with research administration and regulation, such as working with IRB.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six (6) months or more of experience in a clinical research environment.
