Position Summary: The Child Advocacy Specialist at Hope House is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for child survivors escaping domestic violence. This role involves safety planning and providing essential support to youth during their stay at Safe Harbor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with assigned clients within 48 business hours.
  • Manage an ongoing caseload of Hope House clients.
  • Offer comprehensive victim advocacy for children of clients who have experienced sexual assault or domestic violence.
  • Assist clients in filing child protective orders with the appropriate court.
  • Lead monthly children's activities on a rotating basis.
  • Facilitate weekly children's group sessions.
  • Help organize and execute annual children's events such as Back-to-School, Trunk-or-Treat, and Sub for Santa.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of 40-hour Advocate Training within four weeks of hire.
  • Commitment to supporting Safe Harbor's mission and vision.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation check.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in direct social services, with knowledge of sexual violence, domestic violence, and child development.
  • Licensed as a Social Service Worker (SSW) in Utah or eligible to obtain licensure within one year of hire.
