Job Summary:
This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Avionics Aircraft Mechanic III to join our team at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Greenville, SC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and troubleshoot aircraft systems and powerplants to identify malfunctions and defects
- Repair and overhaul aircraft systems and powerplants to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Modify aircraft systems and powerplants to meet changing requirements and specifications
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement new procedures and standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and engineers
Requirements:
- 6 years of C-130/L-100 aircraft maintenance experience
- Knowledge of aircraft systems operations, including landing gear, flight controls, and aircraft ground operations
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions ranging from faulty parts to improper wiring
- Experience with using maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and locate malfunctions and repair
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license
- High school education or equivalent (GED)
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Flight Line Operations, Isochronal/Phase Inspections, and Depot Level Maintenance on C-130/L-100 aircraft
- Experience with servicing, pre-flight, launch, and recovery (post-flight inspection) of aircraft
- Experience with aircraft logbooks, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and Time Compliance Technical Orders
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Security Clearance:
This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a 4x10 hour day schedule, with 3 days off per week.
