Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Investigator to join our Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. As an Investigator, you will conduct complex fraud investigations involving healthcare providers in the Virginia Medicaid Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of healthcare providers, including allegations of corporate neglect within nursing home facilities.
  • Review voluminous records and participate in search warrants, interviews with witnesses and targets of investigations.
  • Draft overpayment schedules and participate in undercover operations.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure effective investigation and prosecution of Medicaid fraud.
Requirements
  • Applicants must have a related undergraduate degree or commensurate experience.
  • Major course work in the criminal justice or medical administration field, or prior law enforcement experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing and database management systems is required.
  • A criminal background check will be completed on the successful candidate.
Additional Considerations

A degree in criminal justice, political science, law enforcement, or healthcare administration field is desirable, but an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for educational criteria.
