Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Team Member to join our team at Uptown Theater. As a Security Team Member, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and venue property. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Circulate among guests and employees to preserve safety, order, and to protect venue property.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
  • Maintain crowd control and ensure safety by working alongside barricade security at concerts and shows.
  • Show CARE by participating in the venue's sustainability program, which may include implementing programs that conserve resources and prevent waste, such as sorting waste and collecting recycling, and educating fans about our efforts.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience working with general security, nightclub, and/or nightclub security is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely manage and redirect individuals during active crowd events.
  • Ability to carry up to 150+ lbs. on occasion.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying 50 lbs+ and occasional sitting.
