JOB OVERVIEW
The CNC Machine Operator plays a crucial role in the setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, or laser cutters to manufacture components that align with customer and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze blueprints, sketches, and specifications to ascertain dimensions and tolerances of finished components, as well as the sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Execute the setup of all machinery, which includes selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces to guide subsequent machining processes.
- Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications.
- Adjust machine controls as necessary to rectify any discrepancies.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and CMM programs, to assess the accuracy of work.
- Verify the first piece machined for dimensions and tolerances before proceeding with the full order.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues.


Qualifications Required:

- High School Diploma or GED, with the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level.
- 1-3 years of experience or formal training in CNC machine setup and operation.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and routings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Typical manufacturing setting with potential exposure to various elements such as dust, fumes, and noise.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Technical certification or an Associate's degree in CNC machining.
- Experience in operating and programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Knowledge of metallurgical properties or related coursework.
- Over 5 years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and/or laser cutting machines.
