Job Summary

Colorado Permanente Medical Group is seeking a board-certified geriatric-trained physician to join our team and help start a clinic within our medical group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric medicine and a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with complex needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical services for members in a Primary Care setting on a continuing basis, treating internal disorders, analyzing records, and prescribing medication as needed.
  • Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical conditions of the patient.
  • Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Manage and treat common health problems, such as infections, influenza, and pneumonia, as well as serious, chronic, and complex illnesses in adults and the elderly.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Make diagnoses when different illnesses occur together or in situations where the diagnosis may be obscure.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Utilize computer to access patient records and other clinical information to include accurate coding.
  • Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
  • Performs office procedures commensurate with scope of practice (such as minor office surgery, gyn, office orthopedics, etc.).
  • Refers patients to medical or surgical specialties for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.
  • Works as a part of a comprehensive care team that involves MA/LPNs, RNs, social work, and care coordinators.
Requirements
  • Board certification in geriatric medicine or a related field.
  • Completion of a geriatric fellowship or a similar training program.
  • Strong background in geriatric medicine and a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
