At Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for executing change using process improvement methodologies, assisting in implementing our Lean strategy, and executing project initiatives. Your expertise in manufacturing methods, product design, materials, and quality control standards will be invaluable in driving process improvements and ensuring the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies to drive process improvements and support Value Stream Maps.
- Assist and support our current 5S program to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Lead, participate, and support Kaizen Events and A3's to identify and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with international sites to ensure global processes are being followed and updated with improvements as needed.
- Interface with quality, receiving quality, industrial engineering, and production to integrate new products or processes into the existing production area.
- Develop and maintain the requirements of new tools and fixtures orders for final assembly.
- Develop and maintain specialty tools to support production flow.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods by conducting research on programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, and assembly processes, and soliciting observations from operators.
- Assist and oversee in developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and conferring with vendors.
- Act as a First Responder for the production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, identify, communicate, and resolve issues in the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot any technical design difficulties with operators, take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences of the problems, and support failure analysis and develop effective countermeasures.
- Support the implementation of Root Cause Corrective Action and develop, review, and support effective training activities for all production assembly employees.
- Partner with Production Supervisors to ensure new manufacturing concepts are implemented.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- 7 or more years of work-related experience in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Experienced in creating and implementing process control as related to production fixtures.
- Able to create and review engineering drawings, models, and assemblies for manufacturability.
- Advanced Root cause analysis capability using 3D clash analysis and advanced metrology equipment.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Aerospace materials such as metals and plastics.
- Knowledge of Aerospace requirements such as ISO9001 and AS9100.
- Experienced in GD&T.
- Experienced in various forms of rapid prototyping including 3D printing.
- Ability to independently plan and prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Able to analyze and interpret data.
- 5 or more years of 3D modeling experience.
- Green Belt preferred.
