The Plumbing Service Projects Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential plumbing systems. This includes reading blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, or water supply systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as the ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose plumbing issues through observation, testing, and setup as required by trade/position.
- Perform disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial or residential equipment to perform troubleshooting.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment, testing and metering devices.
- Handle plumbing repairs, including stoppages/cabling, pumping and backflow testing/repair/replacement, fixture install/replacement, and general troubleshooting or repair.
- Responsible for water heater troubleshooting/replacement/maintenance and boiler maintenance.
- Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
- Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer as evidenced by past driving performance record.
- Complete documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
- Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
- Journeyman plumbing license.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Two-year technical degree in a related field is preferred.
- Plumbing repair skills, including stoppages/cabling, pumping and backflow testing/repair/replacement, fixture install/replacement, general troubleshooting and repair, domestic water/sewer or storm water leak/repair, fixture rough-in, pump replacement/repair, leak locating/line tracing, hydro jetting and camera.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Diagnostic ability as demonstrated through prior experience and/or training.
- Self-managed individual with a professional demeanor and solid interpersonal skills.
- Strong business ethics at all times.
