Overview

Youth Villages is a national leader in children's mental and behavioral health, with a commitment to helping troubled children and their families find success. Our approach centers on intensive work with children and families, measuring outcomes, and keeping children in the community whenever safely possible.

Responsibilities

As a Foster Care Specialist, you will work with foster care children to discuss their referral issues and advocate for their best interests. You will serve as a liaison between the child and the court, providing intensive in-home based treatment that addresses the needs of the entire family.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing services to the entire family, rather than just the identified youth
  • Working with the family to build trust and align them with treatment
  • Managing a caseload of 8-10 families
  • Delivering services in the family's home or wherever they need us (school, court, etc.)
  • Documenting progress and personal development online
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a social services discipline (or a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree in progress)
  • Experience with counseling adolescents in a clinical setting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for work purposes
