Job Description:

As a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. You will plan, implement, and document nursing care based on the patient's needs. You will identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will develop, implement, and coordinate an individualized plan of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments. You will initiate assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. You will perform therapeutic nursing interventions. You will manage care of patients and document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. You will advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. You will provide patient-centric care aligned with a professional nursing practice model. You will fulfill float requirements by being prepared to assist wherever needed throughout the facility. This includes Adult units, where the nurse will not take assignment but act as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). When floating to Mother/Baby and Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), act solely as a resource nurse/extra set of hands. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
