  • Conduct thorough testing of software products prior to release, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Document software bugs and enhancements, providing detailed reports for the development team.
  • Create product release notes, highlighting new features and improvements.
  • Present live demonstrations of new release features to customers and peers, showcasing the software's capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Support Team to troubleshoot reported issues and apply solutions to resolve them.
  • Develop and execute in-depth test scripts to identify and resolve software defects, working closely with internal and external resources as needed.
  • Monitor and report the progress of defect resolution throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Establish and manage test activity schedules, coordinating the use and availability of test environments and facilities.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of PC and LAN environments, primarily using Windows Server and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs and the ability to effectively use software applications for data entry, data analysis, word processing, presentations, and calculations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
  • Client/Server, Web, and Mobile application knowledge.
  • Agile experience.
  • Source control experience.
  • Prior law enforcement experience, preferably with SmartCOP software.
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance concepts and practices.
  • Effective testing skills, including test planning and execution, and the ability to identify software defects using test methodologies.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop logical, documented recommendations and work with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Detail-oriented, with an aptitude for facilitating the removal of defects from software development teams.
