Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Tri-City Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting Pharmacists and the Department of Pharmacy in ordering, preparing, and distributing medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Pharmacists in ordering, preparing, and distributing medications
  • Prepare IV additives and solutions using aseptic technique
  • Order and restock supplies, and maintain the IV room and pharmacy in a neat and orderly manner
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment, including unit-based safety and infection control requirements
  • Fill routine Pyxis loads accurately and in a timely manner
  • Operate pharmacy computer systems accurately and efficiently
  • Familiarity with and adherence to USP 797 guidelines
  • Deliver patient medications to individual nursing stations
  • Return unused medications to the pharmacy for credit
  • Fill STAT orders accurately and in a timely manner
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • California Pharmacy Technician License
  • Preferred: Six (6) months hospital pharmacy experience, Pyxis med station and CII Safe experience, computer skills, IV sterile technique competency, brand/generic name knowledge, IV admixture experience, chemotherapy preparation experience
