Job Opportunity

The Department of History at the University of California, San Diego is seeking applicants for a temporary lecturer position in various fields, including Africa, Ancient Mediterranean, East Asia, Europe, Jewish Studies, Latin America, Middle East, United States, and History of Science.

As a lecturer, you will be responsible for instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. You will work with the Director for Undergraduate Studies to discuss course content and develop syllabi as needed.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on published UC pay scales. Appointments may be one or more quarters, based on departmental need, and for one, two, or three courses per quarter.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications include a Ph.D. in History or a related field, with ABDs also considered. Additional qualifications require a Ph.D. by the time of start date.
