Position Overview:

The Head Banquet Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the banquet operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the washing, cleaning, and polishing of all banquet equipment to ensure readiness for service.
2. Manage the breakdown and sorting of china, glassware, silverware, and other items during and after events, ensuring thorough cleaning of all utensils and ashtrays.
3. Facilitate the transportation of food from the kitchen to banquet areas, and ensure the return of dirty dishes to the cleaning area.
4. Supervise kitchen staff, maintaining oversight of the silver room inventory and ensuring efficient operations.
5. Assist in the setup, service, and teardown of events, while performing additional tasks as directed by the Catering or Stewarding Management.
6. Lead daily cleaning activities for kitchen personnel, including Food Runners and Utility Workers, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
7. Enforce proper sanitization protocols, ensuring dish machine final rinse temperatures reach 180 degrees.
8. Uphold standards for personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform compliance.
9. Participate in biohazard response and adhere to OSHA regulations.
10. Maintain inventory knowledge, including the sending and receiving of items, and oversee the management of inventory orders.
