Ultrasound Tech Job Description

Job Summary:

As an Ultrasound Tech, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interpret examinations, and work with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including invasive and non-invasive exams, and interpret results accurately.
  2. Collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care and work together to achieve optimal outcomes.
  3. Ensure a safe and appropriate procedure environment, including equipment checks, transducer checks, and cleanliness.
  4. Evaluate requisitions and patient information to determine the appropriateness of procedures and collaborate with fellow sonographers and clerical staff to plan the workday and patient flow.
  5. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including assessment of patient history, documentation of anatomy and pathology, and producing and summarizing documentation of procedure findings.
  6. Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures, including sonohysterograms, CVS, amniocentesis, and fetal procedures.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard 36-hour workweek and variable shifts.

The salary range is $40.09 per hour, and pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
