Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Brooke Grove Retirement Village. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Cook and package batches of food for consumption according to Department of Human Services Regulation and Safe Serv.
- Cook the exact number of items ordered by each resident, working on several different orders simultaneously.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
- Mix ingredients such as pancake or waffle batters.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment.
- Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee and drinks.
- Prepare specialty foods as per the menu and diet.
- Assist residents in specialty food items of food choice when the menu does not meet their liking.
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and cooking utensils.
- Order and take delivery of supplies.
- Serve orders to residents at tables or in rooms.
- Take food and drink orders and receive payment from family members.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Physically lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to read directions.
