Job Opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist in a School Setting

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at a moderately sized school district in Houston, TX. As a school-based SLP, you will have the opportunity to work with students in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs, and develop individualized education plans to support their progress.
  • Participate in ARD meetings to determine student eligibility and provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for students with identified speech and language disorders.
  • Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns, and maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload.
  • Provide reports of student progress to parents and develop resource materials for use in speech and language development.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communications Disorders
  • Texas Speech-Language Pathology License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Texas Special Education procedures and best practices for SLPs in school settings
  • Professionalism and accountability
