Position Summary: The Produce Category Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for the Produce Department, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Oversight: Accountable for group gross profit margins and overall financial performance.
- Category Strategy Development: Define and implement the Category Strategy for the Produce Department, ensuring it aligns with corporate goals.
- Assortment Management: Curate product selections for various banners and channels, ensuring alignment with strategic targets.
- Product Procurement: Identify and source products that enhance the performance of assigned categories and departments.
- Planning Activities: Oversee financial and assortment planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Planogram Approval: Review and approve all planograms and display guides prior to store communication.
- Promotional Product Selection: Ensure the appropriate selection and representation of products in promotional programs.
- Forecasting: Accurately forecast order quantities and manage purchase order processes.
- Sales Maximization: Identify opportunities for assortment changes and display adjustments to enhance sales.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct Weekly Business Reviews and Monthly P&L Performance Reviews for assigned responsibilities.
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitor pricing to maintain competitiveness.
- Store Engagement: Conduct regular store visits to assess category needs.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement merchandising and systems improvement initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Merchandising Operations and Store Teams to ensure execution of selling plans.
- Feedback Management: Gather feedback and develop action plans to address concerns and opportunities.
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 3-6 years in the Grocery Channel.
Skills:- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- High creativity and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
