A rewarding and dynamic opportunity is available for a Retail Operations Leader. The selected candidate will report directly to the Area Manager.

Job Purpose:

The primary objective is to ensure the smooth functioning of the retail outlet and uphold service excellence by guiding and managing the store operations team to meet sales, profit, and compliance objectives, ultimately providing a competitive advantage for the brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive the store's financial performance by maximizing sales, monitoring daily targets, and proactively addressing any issues to meet weekly and monthly sales goals.
  2. Efficiently oversee all operational aspects of the store, including expense management, inventory control, loss prevention, general cleanliness, and administrative duties.
  3. Ensure effective execution of visual merchandising standards, maintaining in-store presentation and promotional displays that align with the brand image.
  4. Develop and maintain a competent and motivated workforce through effective recruitment, leadership, management, and ongoing training to build capacity for current and future business needs.
  5. Schedule staff in accordance with the Group's labor policies to ensure adequate staffing levels across all departments.
  6. Handle all administrative tasks efficiently, ensuring that employee time and attendance records are accurate and submitted to HR.
  7. Implement customer service initiatives within the store, taking corrective actions to enhance customer experiences, foster loyalty, and achieve participation targets.
  8. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met and opportunities are fully leveraged.
  9. Stay informed about customer trends, demographics, and local competitor activities to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  10. Promote collaboration and integration between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.
  11. Foster a high-performance culture that enhances employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.
  12. Support the Group's vision of being the preferred health and beauty retailer by embodying and promoting company values.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (with a minimum of 50% in Maths and English)
  • Essential: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Retail/Finance Management, Pharmacy, or a related field (for external applicants)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Comprehensive understanding of financial management principles.
  • Strong background in retail/FMCG with knowledge of merchandising and promotional strategies.
  • Familiarity with inventory, cost, risk, and compliance management practices.
  • Expertise in customer service excellence.
  • Understanding of labor legislation and industrial relations practices.
  • Knowledge of competency-based interviewing techniques.
  • Strong managerial capabilities.
