At Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our electrical construction and maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of multiple General Foreman, Foremen, and skilled journey-level workers across several substation construction and maintenance sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the work of journey-level workers of various building trades involving substation construction.
- Review staff's in-progress work for adherence to job specifications, safety policies, and project timelines.
- Estimate costs, manpower needs, and time necessary for completion of various projects.
- Coordinate work with other General Foremen.
- Prepare job specifications, sketches, and progress reports on current construction projects.
- Interpret and explain specifications, blueprints, and work projects with assigned staff.
- Ensure that staff is supplied with tools, materials, and equipment for completion of assigned projects.
- Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Direct and/or provide training to trade staff.
- 8+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity working on substation projects.
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of substation sites.
- Current practices, materials, hand and power tools, and equipment used in substation construction.
- Methods and procedures used in planning and scheduling of substation construction activities.
- Safety regulations and practices pertinent to the construction industry.
- Principles of supervision and training.
- Recordkeeping procedures.
- Methods and procedures used in planning construction projects.
- Various computer application capabilities.
