Fertigation Technician

The Fertigation Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal growth and health of our crops. This position requires a strong understanding of irrigation and fertigation systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the cultivation team.

• Diagnose and Address Plant Nutritional Needs: Conduct regular soil moisture content checks and obtain water samples for testing to ensure our crops receive the necessary nutrients for optimal growth.
• Implement Cultivation Schedule: Adhere to the cultivation schedule set by the Cultivation Manager to ensure timely and efficient crop care.
• Monitor and Maintain Soil Conditions: Check and balance EC & PH of stock tanks according to company standard operation procedures to maintain optimal soil conditions.
• Perform Day-to-Day Plant Hand Watering: Conduct regular hand watering of plants to ensure they receive the necessary moisture for optimal growth.
• Collaborate with Grow Team: Work closely with the grow team to ensure the irrigation/fertigation plan is properly implemented and maintained.
• Maintain Sanitation Standards: Ensure the cultivation/grow rooms are maintained at the highest sanitation standards.
• Perform Regular Calibration and Maintenance: Conduct regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments and perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Responsible for Measuring and Mixing Nutrients: Measure and mix nutrients and plant applications according to Justice Grown policy to ensure optimal crop growth.
• Develop Proficiency in Safety Practices: Develop proficiency and follow safety practices with the operation of equipment, fertigation systems, environmental controls, water distribution systems, and perform troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
• Comply with Safety Procedures: Comply with company and product label safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Variable Shift Work: Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements.

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cannabis Industry Experience: Experience in the cannabis industry is desirable, but not required.
• Safety and Standard Operating Procedures: Ability to prioritize safety practices and follow standard operating procedures.
• Communication and Teamwork: Ability to take direction and complete daily tasks with minimal supervision, conduct oneself in a professional manner, communicate fluently in English (verbal and written), and maintain product accurately and efficiently.
• Customer Service: Ability to adhere to the highest customer service with staff and the public at all times.
• Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to perceive and meet the needs of team members and management, maintain high standards in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, and be punctual, professional, and able to communicate clearly with managers and other staff.
• Cannabis Knowledge: Knowledgeable on strains, genetics, and cultivation practices.
• Physical Demands: Repetitive use of fine motor skills using scissors, high level of efficiency, patience, and flexibility.
• State Affiliation: Must meet requirements for state affiliation.
• Cannabis Identification: The ability to identify cannabis varieties using visual and olfactory senses is highly desirable.
