Position Summary:
A Registered Sleep Technologist operates under the general oversight of the clinical director (MD, DO, or PhD) or designated personnel to deliver comprehensive assessments and treatments for sleep-related disorders. This role encompasses various responsibilities including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, as well as patient care and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct polysomnographic evaluations and provide therapeutic services for patients with sleep disorders.
- Educate patients regarding sleep health and treatment options.
- Supervise and guide junior staff members as needed.
Job Requirements:
1. Completion of an accredited educational program resulting in an associate degree focused on polysomnography.
OR
Completion of a polysomnography program lasting no less than one year from a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational institution or equivalent experience, demonstrating proficiency in all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
2. Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or an equivalent credential is mandatory.
