Role Summary

The Janitorial Manager plays a pivotal role within the Grounds & Facilities department, overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of a vibrant residential community. This position is responsible for leading a team of Janitorial Coordinators and independent contractors, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to building positive relationships within the community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Janitorial Coordinators.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of new team members.
  • Effectively delegate tasks to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and document procedures to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Oversee administrative tasks related to janitorial services, including contracts and supply management.
  • Ensure proper training is provided to team members, facilitating clear communication with the Facilities Team.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and address any recurring issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with other staff members for specialized cleaning needs.
  • Monitor equipment and supplies for safety compliance and report any hazards.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing staff development.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Alignment with MLF's mission and values, with a commitment to serving those in need.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing cleaning operations in various settings.
  • Ability to train and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Experience in commercial cleaning and inventory management is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning practices and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications for effective communication and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and potential hazards associated with cleaning operations.
