About the Role:The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for planning and delivering patient care in the perioperative setting. This includes collaborating with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans, performing pre-operative assessments, and monitoring patients' vital signs during procedures.
Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver patient care in the perioperative setting
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation
- Educate patients and family members on post-operative care and instructions
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating)
- BSN or MSN preferred
