Job Summary

The McLean Hospital Facilities team is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment throughout the campus.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work, or a vocational school graduate with a focus on similar trades and 1-2 years of work experience.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Massachusetts Driver's License, computer proficiency, and effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment
  • Responding to corrective maintenance requests, such as unclogging drains, replacing washers and faucets, and replacing light bulbs and cords
  • Assisting other tradesmen or vendors when assigned
  • Sharing knowledge and teaching skills to other staff
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, systems, and components in a neat and orderly fashion conducive to safe working conditions
  • Using proper PPE, ladders, and scaffolding as needed to conduct work safely
  • Responding to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

Additional responsibilities may include working weekends or rotating on-call shifts, assisting with snow removal, taking OSHA training to operate equipment on campus, and operating a motor vehicle on and/or off campus.
