Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate core functions, ensuring the project team is equipped with qualified personnel to execute program core functions.
  • Support program closure reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, etc.).
  • Ensure technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
  • Manage both vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout product teams and the program lifecycle.
  • Oversee configuration management of the overall Program Baseline.
  • Act as the Logistics and Supportability Interface, ensuring all relevant specialty engineering disciplines integrate horizontally across applicable phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Collect, manage, and report program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
  • Manage risks and opportunities while producing core engineering work products and tracking dependencies in the program schedule.
  • Oversee the establishment and execution of the program lifecycle and associated work products.
  • Facilitate the transition of the project to operations, maintenance, and sustainment stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and feasibility of the program technical baseline.
  • Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with no experience.
  • Proven experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAMEO.
  • Experience in Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
  • Experience in Backlog Planning and Management.
  • Background in systems development, integration, and testing.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAMEO.
  • Experience in Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
  • Experience in Backlog Planning and Management.
  • Background in systems development, integration, and testing.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle, focusing on SRR to CDR.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes from the generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.
  • Master's degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.
  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).
  • Exposure to Multi-Disciplinary Engineering (Software, Hardware, Electrical) with strong cross-functional communication skills.
  • Experience managing contracts of $10M or more.

Salary Range: $102,400 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
