GMF Steel Group is seeking a dynamic and skilled Certified Welding Inspector. This role is essential to our manufacturing operations, ensuring that GMF's high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and provide detailed reports on GMF projects to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards, including AWS D1.1, D1.3, AISC Chapter N, and RCSC.
- Perform inspections of structural and miscellaneous steel welding and erection in line with industry standards.
- Advise the project team on necessary modifications related to contract specifications throughout all phases of GMF's scope of work.
- Oversee GMF's quality assurance system and implement the three-phase inspection process.
- Provide oversight at project sites and assist in resolving any issues that arise.
- Maintain and review qualification and performance records to ensure compliance.
- Support and enhance GMF's AISC Certification Program.
- Coordinate with Shop, Detailing, Purchasing, and Project Teams to uphold AISC quality standards.
- Verify that all welders meet the required qualifications and performance criteria.
- Examine change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals.
- Monitor project timelines.
- Ensure adherence to QA and safety protocols by site personnel.
Qualifications:
- CWI Certification is required.
- Ability to perform visual inspections of welds under CWI supervision.
- Proficient in verifying dimensional specifications.
- Experience with Tekla EPM Go is preferred.
- Capability to interpret structural steel drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as necessary.
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.3, AISC Chapter N, and RCSC standards.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Preferred experience in structural steel welding.
- Knowledge of structural steel tolerances.
- Experience in conducting weld inspections on structural steel.
Salary:
- Annual salary range of $75,000 - $95,000, plus performance bonuses based on experience.
