Role Overview:
The Process Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations with scientific knowledge to guarantee the effective transition of new products from development to production. This includes ensuring robust manufacturing processes during commercialization, investigating failures of commercialized products, and maintaining processes to ensure performance within expected parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enhance Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Overall Equipment Efficiency, Throughput, and Unplanned Stops during shift operations.
- Support daily execution of Standard Works:
- Centerlines, Cleaning & Inspection, Start-ups and Shutdowns, and Changeovers.
- Facilitate problem-solving using continuous improvement methodologies:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), fishbone diagrams, and 5S.
- Assist in the creation of technical and operational standards:
- Standard Operating Procedures, One Point Lessons, Job Aids, and Troubleshooting Guides, along with training for manufacturing associates.
- Collaborate in the development of validation documents (IQ, OQ, & PQ) and lead the execution of process qualifications for both new and existing production systems.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Manufacturing software:
- Minitab, Microsoft Applications, MS-Visio, MS-Power BI, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Certification:
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or a commitment to obtaining certification within 12 months of hire.
Compensation and Benefits:
Cepheid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package that enhances our employees' lives, including health care programs and paid time off. The salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 annually, which reflects our good faith belief regarding possible compensation at the time of posting. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
