Job Overview

SUMMARY

The Casino Cashier Associate is responsible for conducting "even money" transactions with guests and team members. A comprehensive understanding of all cage policies and procedures is essential to ensure compliance and provide exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Protect financial assets.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and adhere strictly to all cage operation policies and procedures.
  • Execute "even money" exchanges of cash, chips, tokens, and coins with guests.
  • Process loans and manage necessary documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with the vault cashier to ensure sufficient currency levels through the exchange of coins, chips, and tokens.
  • Handle table fills, credits, and/or slot machine fills and jackpots as required.
  • Conduct a physical inventory of the imprest drawer/chip bank and document findings at the end of each shift.
  • Assist the vault cashier with the opening and closing of cages as necessary.
  • Support routine maintenance of the cage area and its equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality in communications with management regarding financial matters, policy violations, and employee relations.
  • Exhibit professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to the dress code established by management.
  • Be open to cross-training and providing assistance in related operational areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive demeanor, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete tasks promptly is crucial. Candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse personalities while maintaining impartiality. A willingness to accept supervisory guidance and constructive feedback is necessary for continuous improvement. Quick adaptability to the work environment and flexibility in response to change are vital for success in this role. Strong mathematical and calculator skills are required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Previous experience in cash handling is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EQUIPMENT USED

Desktop computers, calculators, Jetsort coin counters, currency counters, and coin wrappers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role involves minimal lifting of up to 50 lbs. Candidates may also need to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift, and carry occasionally. The position requires repetitive walking, standing, or bending for extended periods.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Candidates must effectively manage stressful situations while remaining focused and professional. The ability to interact with challenging individuals without losing perspective is essential. Working productively under strict time constraints with varying deadlines is a requirement.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Employees must be prepared to work in a busy, loud environment and handle constant surveillance. There may be a need to work in small, enclosed spaces. Adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and standards set by OSHA is mandatory.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Native American and Tribal Preference will apply. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment. Flexibility in work hours and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities when requested are expected. Strict confidentiality regarding company policies must be maintained.
