About the Role:

Festival Foods is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Clerk I to join our team. As a Grocery Clerk I, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store is well-stocked and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, acknowledging, and reacting to customer needs.
  • Ensure that products are within date, rotated, and properly displayed according to the assigned planogram.
  • Assist with unloading product from pallets and organizing the stock room.
  • Maintain proper presentation of products on store shelves and in cases.
  • Observe sales floor conditions and take action to correct areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper pricing on products received and sold.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with Store Director, Grocery Department Manager, and all Grocery associates to maintain standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Assist customers with locating items on and off the sales floor, providing product suggestions and alternatives when appropriate.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues when a customer is not satisfied with the service or product received.
  • Contribute to overall cleanliness of the department by sanitizing, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse crew in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Ability to use the following equipment: power jack, walk behind lift, WAV, baler, compactor.

Work Environment:

The Grocery Clerk I is a part-time, hourly position. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
