Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Fairview Health Services. This is a casual position based out of our Blaine location and assigned to a local high school. The successful candidate will provide athletic training services to a dedicated high school in the Twin Cities Metro Area and support in-clinic Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine non-operative providers a few mornings each week at our North Metro locations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Athletic Training Services: The Athletic Trainer will work in a diverse high school with 12 different men's and women's programs in development, providing athletic training room coverage from 3:00 - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday and covering events 2-4 days a week.
  • Direct Patient Care: The Athletic Trainer is responsible for safe and effective direct delivery of patient care, including patient evaluation, treatment, reassessment, and discharge planning.
  • Communicate with Coaches and Medical Personnel: The Athletic Trainer will communicate accurate follow-up care to athletes and families, coaches, and any other medical support personnel.
  • Coordinate Referrals and Education: The Athletic Trainer will coordinate referrals to medical personnel and provide education to improve outcomes.
  • Determine Playability of Injured Athletes: The Athletic Trainer will determine the playability of injured athletes in both practice and competition.
Qualifications
  • Board of Certification Certification: The successful candidate must be certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification upon hire.
  • Licensure: The successful candidate must be licensed as an Athletic Trainer with the MN Board of Medical Practice upon hire.
  • CPR/BLS Certification: The successful candidate must be certified in CPR/BLS upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership in the National Athletic Training Association: Membership in the National Athletic Training Association is preferred.
