Job Title: Vacuum Furnace Operator

This is a critical role within our manufacturing team, responsible for operating vacuum and pressure sintering furnaces and abrasive machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing pre-operation checks for machines and conducting safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Operating vacuum, partial pressure, and pressurized sintering furnaces, maintaining precise temperature, vacuum, and gas conditions.
  • Building and sorting heat according to shop orders and maintaining furnace cycles using programmable controllers.
  • Operating a tumbler and blasting equipment to de-burr and clean surfaces of various carbide products.
  • Selecting and preparing parts for testing and inspecting sintered carbide parts to meet established ISO requirements.
  • Reporting shop orders and packaging parts to meet established due dates and tracking and problem-solving furnace issues to reduce costs.
  • Monitoring established WIP controls for the area and accurately recording required data.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of manufacturing safety, teamwork, communication, business acumen, trouble shooting, problem solving, and quality control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100+ lbs, as well as kneel, stoop, stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
