As a Physical Therapist, you will deliver age-appropriate therapy services within the home and community, encompassing assessment, intervention, treatment, and education to enhance functional abilities and ensure the highest quality of care for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize patient satisfaction by delivering outstanding customer service and performing job duties with excellence.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through ongoing education and training.
  • Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and implement effective physical therapy programs, utilizing appropriate modalities and assistive devices in accordance with established standards.
  • Identify and participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes within the Agency's Home Health or Early Intervention programs to elevate service quality.
  • Supervise and mentor Certified Physical Therapy Assistants, as applicable.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to organizational policies and standards of conduct.
  • Execute responsibilities in alignment with UPMC's service management philosophy, fostering positive interactions with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all required records, adhering to agency and regulatory standards, with data transmission occurring on the same day when applicable.
  • Collaborate with families, interdisciplinary team members, physicians, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Deliver physical therapy services and contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans, including modalities and frequency, in partnership with referring physicians, catering to patients from infancy to geriatrics to promote maximum functional independence.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program recognized by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation, eligibility for the National Registration Examination, or two years of relevant experience as a physical therapist with a satisfactory proficiency examination result. A minimum of one year of physical therapy experience is required for unsupervised practice, or less than one year if practicing under supervision.

Licensure and Certifications:
Current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards, which includes both theoretical and practical components, is required within the first month of employment.
